Telekinesis

Here’s a fun experiment for kids to try. Get out a silver bowl and fill it with water. Then place into the bowl a well-preserved eyeball that is fresh and cold to the touch. Begin to chant, and watch the eyeball rise out of the water and float in midair: it will stare at your face.

The scientific phenomenon that makes the above experiment possible is known as telekinesis. You can also swap out the eye for a block of wood. Repeat the word “levitate” and it will rise up and even spin around. 

Here is how this branch of physics works. Telekinetic mind-waves radiate out from the human skull, and these invisible influencers carry a “mobility impulse” toward the object in question. It’s the same force that makes rockets dash thru the sky. 

A side effect of this process, which has become a desired weapon for the meanest spirits, is that the force also makes fear descend like a blanket over slumber, thus inflicting people with nightmares. So, if you’ve ever awakened from a deep sleep soaked with terror because you dreamt of a Radioactive Deer emerging from the Forest of the Night, blame telekinesis. 

Troubleshooting Tip: for anyone who is having a hard time getting the above experiment to work, the most likely reason is that you are holding your crystal incorrectly.
