When the clock strikes twelve on New Year’s Eve, custom declares that every individual must kiss the person who happens to be standing closest by. Failing to do this could result in one experiencing a lonely feeling. It is a tradition of humankind: Kissing when the Old Year expires gives the New Year birth. It also tends to make one smile. And, I repeat: If you can’t find someone to kiss, then your next twelve months of life will be ruined.
