An Experience

You were meditating at home, when you felt a tingling sensation radiate through your arm. This distressed you. Soon your whole body began to feel likewise. Then you heard a soothing voice call out to you by name. As the voice grew louder, you began to look around. You were startled to see your own body sprawled beneath you: somehow, you were hovering above, outside its physical confines. You had apparently become transfigured into the spiritual realm. There, you encountered God, who spoke with you while whisking you to Heaven in a whirlwind. You beheld several types of angelic and alien beings. Then you were sent back to Earth. — Immediately you ran to tell all your friends about this experience. But your friends were skeptical: they laughed at you and teased you and said: “Stop pretending.” This left you enraged; you were now determined to prove to them that your experience was real. So you invited your friends to come over to your home and meditate with you, just as you had been doing when the unusual experience first occurred.
