I'm interested in the idea of beauty, and how, like morality, it lies in the mind of the beholder. Say that a black-robed judge declares a supermodel to be good-looking: Straightway a nearby bailiff grows jealous & desires to be declared good-looking as well. There's only one problem: the bailiff is unattractive. So what's the solution? Well, if the surrounding mobs of bystanders are kind, they shall call the bailiff genuinely beautiful, despite the truth; even if it means overturning some judge's earlier verdict. Then, when the aforesaid supermodel discovers that an unprepossessing man has managed to get himself officially declared even prettier than her, she shall bow politely & say "I accept the consensus of opinions." This is how a lying democracy can save the free world. Just be nicer to people.
