Runners at their starting blocks are waiting for the race to begin. “Runners, prepare to sprint down the track.” I’m already panting with excitement. My hands are sweaty. A jet airplane is revving its engine nearby.
Now the shot sounds — off we go!
The runners dash fast for fifty meters and reach the finish line. Their aim is to break the record. They lean forward while running. The last few steps are a thrill.
I myself am one of the participants. I dive forward onto my chest and yell: “Who was the winner? Was it me? I fell down and couldn’t tell what was happening at the end. I was there in lane six.” And the announcer announces: “You’re the winner.” I let out a cheer.
