I don’t think we’re in the right spot — we’re not receiving much interest from the sealife. Let’s start drifting and see if we can get some sauger. (Sauger’s a lanky North American pikeperch with silver eyes.) Now I’m pulling some sauger up, after using my auger to bore a fresh hole. But look: everyone is coming over and fishing near me now. “Hey, man, why you driftin’ on over here? C’mon, bro.” — Ah, yeah, now they left. What you just witnessed was boat-rage. Now I’m catching some fish, yessir: fishing in the moat. But I’ve got a headache from the wind that just started blowing pretty hard. I’m using a fish horn lead snake for bait. It’s early morning. Let’s drift off, maybe sleep for a while. Whoa, I caught one: fifteen meters! That took just ten seconds, flat; and it has batlike palpi. I’m so glad we decided to go fishing today. Remember that time when something bit your line, and it exploded like a bomb when you pulled it up? You thought it was some sort of toad.
