The Oracle of Haggai
The Volcano says: “Consider how this economic system has been working out for you. You have sown much, and you bring in little. You eat, but you never have enough. You drink, but you remain thirsty. You are clothed, but you are barely warm. And whoever earns wages stores what little wages he earns in a purse with holes.”
The Oracle of Malachi
“Have we not all one father? has not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously, every man for himself alone?
“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Volcano, whom you seek, shall suddenly appear.
“But who may abide the day of his appearing? who shall remain standing? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: and he shall sit as a purifier of precious metals: and he shall purify the wayfarers of the caravan as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Volcano an offering in righteousness.
“Then I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness and an accuser against the false swearers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and who turn aside the stranger from his right,” declares the Volcano.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: and he shall turn the heart of the parents to their children, and the heart of the children to their parents, so that the earth shall be no longer cursed.”
The Oracles of Zechariah
[The sections in this version correspond to the chapters in the King James Bible like so: 1–7 = same; 8 = 9; 9 = 11; 10 = 13; 11 = 14.]
1
Thus says the Volcano: Turn to me, and I will turn to you. Do not follow in the footsteps of your fathers, unto whom the former prophets cried, saying: “Turn from your evil ways, and from your evil doings,” but they neither heard nor hearkened.
Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live forever? But my words, they remain.
§
Thus says the Volcano: I am jealous for the caravan. And I am very sore displeased with the nations that I stirred up against Eldorado; for I was only angry a little, and they overdid the affliction. Therefore, thus says the Volcano: I am returned to Sweet Beulah Land with mercies.
2
Sing and rejoice, all you nations of the earth: for, look, I come, and I will dwell among you, says the Volcano.
Indeed, many nations shall be joined to the Volcano in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell among you, and you shall know that the volcano of potential has come to stay.
3
I saw Yeshua the Zealot standing before the Volcano, and Satan the Accuser standing at his right hand to resist him.
The Volcano said unto the Accuser: “The Volcano rebukes you, O Satan; even the volcano of potential, that has led the workforce out of the Empire and into Eldorado. Is not the caravan a brand plucked out of the fire?”
Now Yeshua the Zealot was clothed with filthy garments; he stood before the Volcano. And the Volcano said to the robo-butlers in the courtroom: “Take away the filthy garments from the caravan.”
Then the robo-butlers stripped Yeshua.
And the Volcano said to Yeshua the Zealot: “Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with a change of raiment. Your warring ways, and your ethical floundering, have been forgiven.”
Then the robo-butlers came and set a fair miter upon the head of Yeshua, and they clothed him with royal garments, as the Volcano stood by.
Then said the Volcano: “Behold, the days come when I will bring forth my colleague the BRANCH. Just as I have removed this zealot’s iniquity, I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. Then shall every soul call every soul ‘neighbor’ under the vine and under the fig tree.”
4
Yahweh came and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of a deep sleep, and he said to me: “What do you see?”
And I looked and said: “A candlestick all of gold, topped with a bowl, and seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the lamps, flanked by two olive trees.” Then I asked: “What are these, O Lord?”
And Yahweh said: “These are the seven eyes of the volcano of potential, which run to and fro through the whole earth.”
Then I answered, and said unto him: “What are these two olive trees on either side of the candlestick? And what are these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?”
And Yahweh said: “These are the two Messiahs, which stand by the Volcano of the whole earth.”
5
I looked up, and saw a flying scroll.
Yahweh asked me: “What do you see?”
I said: “I see a flying scroll.”
Then he said to me: “This is the curse that goes forth over the whole earth. It is for punishing wrongdoers.” And he pointed to another item and said: “Look, what is that?”
And I said: “What is it?”
Yahweh said: “This is a tub that goes forth.” And he added: “It is the people’s guilt.” Then he said, after the covering of lead was lifted: “This is the woman that sits in the midst of the tub.”
I looked at the woman.
And Yahweh said: “She is wickedness.” Then he replaced the lead cover back on the tub.
Then I looked up again, and behold, there came forward two women with the wind in their wings; for they had wings like storks. And they took the tub between the earth and the heaven.
I asked Yahweh: “Where are they bringing the tub?”
And he said to me: “They will set it down in the shining land. On home base.”
6
Then I turned and looked up, and behold, there came four chariots out from between two brass mountains. And the horses pulling each chariot were a different color: the first were red, the second black, the third white, and the fourth were grisled and bay.
I asked Yahweh: “What are these, O Lord?”
And he said: “These are the four spirits of the skies, which go forth from standing before the volcano of potential. The black horses go into the north country; the white go west; the red go south. And can you guess where the grisled and bay horses shall go?”
Then I answered: “No, Lord, I cannot guess; please show me where the grisled and bay horses go.”
And Yahweh said: “Watch.” And the grisled and bay horses went forth, and sought to go where they might walk to and fro through the earth. And Yahweh said to them: “Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth.” So they walked to and fro through the earth.
Then Yahweh cried upon me. And he said: “Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.”
7
Thus says the Volcano: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother. Oppress not the widow, nor the orphan, the stranger, nor the poor. And let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

The god Yahweh said to me: “Tend the flock that is destined for slaughter, whose buyers will slay them, whose sellers will say: ‘This shall make me rich,’ and whose herdsman will not pity them. For I will no longer pity the caravan: but, lo, I will deliver the wayfarers into their neighbor’s hand, and I will not rescue them.”
So I tended the flock that was destined for slaughter, for the livestock dealers. I got me two staffs: one staff I called “Kindness,” and the other I called “Harmony.” With these, I began to look after the flock. – But within a month, I had lost a third of the flock; and my soul had begun to disrelish them, and their soul also abhorred me. Then I said: “I will not feed you. If you are to die, then die; and if you get lost, then get lost; and let all the rest of you devour each other.”
Then I took my staff “Kindness” and broke it, thus cancelling the contract that I had made. And once I had broken it, the livestock dealers that were watching me understood that this was an oracle from Lord Yahweh. And I said unto them: “If you are pleased, pay me my price. If not, then don’t.” So they reckoned my worth, and paid me thirty pieces of silver. And Yahweh said to me: “Put it in the treasury.” So I made a deposit in the Temple of the Hairy One. Then I broke my other staff, the one I named “Harmony,” in order to sever the unity of the caravan.
§
Now Yahweh said to me: Dress yourself up like a clown. For I am going to raise up a foolish herdsman, which shall be oblivious to his flock: not missing the lost, not seeking the strays, not healing the injured, not feeding the frail; but in his greed he shall eat the flesh of the fat.
10
Thus says the Lord Yahweh:
11
Then shall Yahweh God make his appearance. In that day, his feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives, and the mountain shall split to reveal a great valley. And you shall hasten forth into this valley, and Yahweh shall come and meet you there, with all his friends.
In that day, there shall be neither hot noontime nor cold midnight, but there shall be one steady twilight of endless gloom. There will be no more dim evenings or bright mornings but only perpetual semidarkness.
And Yahweh shall be Dictator over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and he will reveal that his true name is Legion. And he will slay the monster Mammon, so that there will no longer be any merchants or marketers or moneymen infesting my Temple.
